There are so many reasons to come to Times Square, it’s no wonder than 400,000 people pass through the neighborhood daily, including 50 million visitors annually. The neighborhood has become more pedestrian-friendly with reduced traffic and more plazas created with seating and tables for relaxing and people watching, as well as food carts offering quick, yet delicious food to enjoy.
If you’re looking for more formal dining options, we’ve got a list of Great Places To Eat in Times Square, as well as suggestions for Pre-Theater Dining.
I think it’s most impressive after dark, when the glow of billboards and street signs make it hard to believe that it’s nighttime. Curious what you can do in Times Square? Here are 8 Things To Do in Times Square, including seeing a Broadway show, riding a ferris wheel and posing for pictures with celebrities.
Alternative Idea: Get away from the grid of Times Square and head south to Greenwich Village. There’s still plenty of great shopping and tons of restaurants to eat at, but there are also cobblestone streets and quiet spots to explore and relax.

You just need to take the 7th train from Grand Central to Long Island City, and get out on the next stop – Vernon Blvd. Then, after 5 minutes walk, you can enjoy a nice park, a few piers and a fantastic view of Manhattan.
