8. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)
Founded in 1929 as the first museum dedicated entirely to contemporary art, the MoMA is host to an impressive collection of modern artistic efforts. From painting and sculpture to film and architecture, the Museum of Modern Art’s diverse collection has something for everyone, including kids, which is probably why it attractions roughly 3 million visitors each year. They also have an amazing gift shop where you can buy beautiful souvenirs for yourself and your friends back home.
The museum has wonderful programs for families on the weekends, as well as guided tours, gallery talks and film screenings and events. The museum’s iPhone app is free and offers tours, maps and offers a variety of options for sharing your experience on social media, as well as ways to create your own collections of images and artwork.
Alternative Idea: In SoHo, the New Museum offers visitors exhibits from emerging artists, with an emphasis on works by living artists. The galleries are frequently changed, so there is always something new to see.

January 22, 2017 at 11:01 pmIf you want to get a gorgeous cityscape, I really suggest getting to Gantry Plaza in Long Island City . You just need to take the 7th train from Grand Central to Long Island City, and get out on the next stop – Vernon Blvd. Then, after 5 minutes walk, you can enjoy a nice park, a few piers and a fantastic view of Manhattan.
